Kenneth R. Meier

He was born in Jersey City on November 11, 1938 and resided there until moving to Clifton 38 years ago. Mr. Meier was dedicated to his work. He spent most of his career as a Vice President and Controller in New York City at the Bank of New York. In 1988, he decided to pursue his passion for cooking and purchased the Valley Deli in Clifton, NJ where he was the chef/owner and had customers raving over his famous chicken tomasso for over a decade. He spent the last 12 years as an agent with Aflac - New York where "The Commish" flourished working with his policyholders. Mr. Meier was also a proud veteran of the United States Army having served honorably from 1961 to 1963.

In his youth, he was a talented ballplayer – being invited to attend Yankee Spring Training in 1959. Later, he found joy in trips to the beach, cooking for his family, playing golf and especially spending time with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren.

Kenneth R. Meier, 74 of Clifton, passed away on May 16, 2013.
